Located inside Crux Chiropractic, our semi-private Finnish sauna is available as a standalone wellness service. You don't need to be a chiropractic patient or schedule a chiropractic appointment to book a session. Simply reserve your time online and enjoy!
The Traditional Finnish Sauna Experience
Unlike infrared saunas, which use light to heat the body, a traditional Finnish sauna uses a heated stone stove to warm the surrounding air. The result is naturally dry heat that creates the classic sauna experience.
Our sauna is preheated to a comfortable temperature, generally between 155°F and 185°F, based on typical user preferences.
For the full Finnish sauna experience, you're welcome to ladle water over the hot stones to create a burst of steam, increasing humidity and adding another dimension to the heat.
Whether you prefer a dry sauna or enjoy the occasional burst of steam, you can make the experience your own.
Benefits of Traditional Sauna
Sauna bathing has been enjoyed for generations for its restorative effects. Today, it's also a popular addition to exercise, recovery, and general wellness routines.
Some of the potential benefits of regular sauna use include:
Muscle relaxation: Heat encourages muscle relaxation and may help ease everyday muscle tension, soreness, and stiffness.
Exercise recovery: Increased circulation and relaxation make sauna a popular complement to physical activity and recovery routines.
Joint comfort: Heat may temporarily ease feelings of joint stiffness and improve comfort.
Circulation: Sauna exposure increases heart rate and blood flow, creating a cardiovascular response similar in some ways to moderate physical activity.
Stress relief: Stepping away from the demands of everyday life and enjoying some quiet time in the sauna can promote relaxation and overall well-being.
Race Heat Training: Endurance athletes utilize heat training to teach the body to naturally cool more quickly and to increase plasma volume - ask Dr. Stephen about this!
General wellness: Research into traditional sauna bathing suggests potential cardiovascular and long-term health benefits.
Whether you're a runner, climber, weightlifter, recreational athlete, or simply someone who enjoys the benefits of heat, a traditional Finnish sauna can be a great addition to your wellness routine.

Sauna Guidelines & Safety
We want everyone to have an enjoyable and comfortable experience.
If you're new to sauna, start with shorter rounds of 10–15 minutes with short breaks between and gradually increase time in the sauna as tolerated. We generally recommend limiting individual rounds to approximately 15–20 minutes, taking breaks as needed. Your 50 minute reservation does not mean you should spend the entire 50 minutes inside the sauna.
Stay hydrated before and after your session, avoid alcohol before sauna use, and exit if you begin to feel lightheaded, dizzy, or unwell.
If you are pregnant or have a cardiovascular condition, blood pressure concerns, or another medical condition that may affect your ability to tolerate heat, consult your healthcare provider before using the sauna.
A few additional guidelines:
Please wipe down and tidy the sauna area using the provided washcloths.
When adding water to the hot stones, please use only one or two ladles at a time. Only pour water directly onto the stones.
Please respect your reserved time and leave the space ready for the next guest.
Cancellation Policy: We ask for at least 24 hours' notice when canceling or rescheduling a reservation. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to the full session charge or forfeiture of a punch pass credit.
